In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Eyarth like this:
EUARTH, or Eyarth, a township in Llanfair-Dyffryn-Clwyd parish, Denbighshire.; with a station on the Denbigh and Corwen railway, 1¾ mile SSE of Ruthin. Real property, £3, 000. Pop., 304.
