In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Kilmurry in Clonderlaw like this:

Kilmurry (or Kilmurry-Clonderalaw), par., S. co. Clare, on river Shannon, 4 miles W. of Killadysert, 10,457 ac., pop. 2007; P.O., called Kilmurry-M'Mahon.
