Shanes Castle  County Antrim


In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Shanes Castle like this:

Shane's Castle, seat of Lord O'Neill, in co. and 2 miles NW. of Antrim, on river Maine and Lough Neagh.
