Historical information on non-fatal illnesses is less easily available than mortality data. This section of the data includes information derived from the sick pay schemes operated by friendly societies. Note that similar information is contained in the monthly reports of trade unions included in the part of the database concerned with economic distress and labour markets, as the same tables cover unemployment, sickness and superannuation benefits. No work has been done to match the units to the AUO.
