HEATON, a township in Leek parish, Stafford; on the river Dane, at the boundary with Cheshire, 4¼ miles NW of Leek. Real property, £3,142. Pop., 396. Houses, 79. The inhabitants are employed chiefly in spinning cotton and forming grindstones.
