Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for BALLYMOE

BALLYMOE, a village, in that part of the parish of DRIMTEMPLE which is in the barony of HALF BALLYMOE, county of GALWAY, and province of CONNAUGHT, 3 ½ miles (S. E.) from Castlerea. The population is included in the return for the parish. It is situated on the river Suck, and on the road from Roscommon to Castlerea, to both of which it has a penny post. Fairs are held on Feb. 1st, March 16th, May 21st, June 24th, Aug. 22nd, and Oct. 25th.—See DRIMTEMPLE.
