Waltham Cross, eccl. dist. and ry. sta., Cheshunt par., Herts, in SE. of co., on S. side and wholly in town of Cheshunt, pop. 3391; P.O., T.O.; takes its name from a "Queen Eleanor's cross" of Edward I., restored in 1833; the sta. serves for the town of Waltham Abbey (in Essex), 1 mile E.
