Dorset, on river Stour, 16 miles NE. of Dorchester and 124 miles SW. of London by rail -- par., 862 ac., pop. 3791; mun. bor., pop. 1373; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks, 2 newspapers.Market-day, Saturday. Blandford has been a market town from the 13th century. It gives the title of Marquis to the Duke of Marlborough.
