Notes:

The 1821 census report states "Benekery is not noticed as a Parish in the Ecclesiastical Returns; one-half of it pays tithe to the Incumbent of Ballinacarrig Parish, and the other half to the Incumbent of Urglin P.; this Parish, though situated in the centre of Carlow Barony, is designated in the old County map, as belonging to Rathvilly Barony."
