Total Population 1821 to 1911: Population fell from 1,110,229 in 1821 to 610,984 in 1911.
Occupational Structure in 1831: Out of 319,133 males aged 20 and over, 167,100 were Farmers not employing Labourers.
Housing in 1851: 18.66 per cent of houses were classed as "Mud cabins having only one room" (the all-Ireland percentage was 13.).
Literacy in 1851: 20.7 per cent of persons aged 5 and above could both read and write.
Religion in 1911: 96.2 per cent of the population were Roman Catholic.
