KILLESK, a parish, in the barony of BALLAGHKEEN, county of WEXFORD, and province of LEINSTER, 2 miles (S.) from Oulart, on the road from that place to Wexford; containing 1036 inhabitants. This parish comprises 3849 statute acres, and contains abundance of limestone, gravel and marl; the system of agriculture is improving. ...


It is an impropriate curacy, in the diocese of Ferns, forming part of the union of Castle-Ellis; the rectory is impropriate in the Earl of Portsmouth. The tithes amount to £164. 2. 3., of which £87. 16. 10. is payable to the impropriator and £76. 5. 5. to the curate. In the R. C. divisions it forms part of the unions or districts of Oulart and Castlebridge.
