Ampthill, par. and town, Bedfordshire, 2½ miles SE. of Ampthill ry. sta. and 7 miles SW. of Bedford, 1928 ac., pop. 2257; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Thursday. Near the town is Ampthill House.
