LUDDENDENFOOT, a village in Luddenden chapelry, Halifax parish, W. R. Yorkshire; on the river Calder, adjacent to the Lancashire and Yorkshire railwvay, 3 ½ miles W by S of Halifax. It has a station on the railway, and a post office under Manchester. A railway 2 miles long, to be called the Luddenden Valley railway, was authorized in 1865 to be constructed from the Lancashire and Yorkshire at Luddendenfoot to Little Holme House.
