Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Whiten Head

Whiten Head (Gael. Ceana Geal Mor), a towering white headland on the N coast of Sutherland, in Durness and Tongue parishes, between Loch Eriboll and Tongue Bay. Rising steeply from the sea to heights of 603 and 935 feet, it ascends inland to Ben Hutig (1340); and its base has been hollowed out by the waves into a multitude of remarkable caverns.—Ord.
