Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Rosehaugh

Rosehaugh, an estate in Avoch parish, Ross-shire, 4 miles WSW of Fortrose. In 1864 it was purchased for £145,000 from Sir James Mackenzie, Bart. of Scatwell, by James Fletcher, Esq. (b. 1810), who has built a fine new mansion in the Renaissance style, besides effecting vast agricultural improvements, and who holds 11,095 acres in the shire, valued at £8545 per annum.
