Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Crook

Crook, a place on the N border of St Ninians parish, Stirlingshire, on the Bannock rivulet, 1½ mile ESE of Stirling. Miss Elizabeth Hamilton (1758-1816) resided at it whilst writing her Cottagers of Glenburnie.
