Table 3 in the county report for Fife from the 1931 Census has a footnote which says 'The Parishes of Kirkcaldy, Dysart and Abbotshall, and part of the Parish of Kinghorn were united in 1901 to form the Parish of Kirkcaldy and Dysart.' The gazetteer has been amended to reflect this.
