In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Denham like this:
DENHAM, a parish in Hoxne district, Suffolk; on an affluent of the river Waveuey, 2½ miles E by N of Eye r. station, and 12 SW of Bungay. Post town, Eye. Acres, 1, 267. Real property, £2, 105. Pop., 282. Houses, 64. The property is divided among a few. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the vicarage of Hoxne, in the diocese of Norwich. The church has a brass, and is tolerable.
