Dromore.-- market town, par., and township with ry. sta., W. co. Down, on river Lagan, 17 miles SW. of Belfast and 115 miles N. of Dublin -- par., 20,475 ac., pop. 10,799; township, 258 ac., pop. 2491; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Saturday; has linen mfrs. The see of D. was united with Down in 1842. The cathedral contains the tomb of Bishop Jeremy Taylor (1613-1667).
