Pharay, North, an island of Stronsay and Eday parish, Orkney, 7 furlongs W of Eday island, from which it is separated by the Sound of Pharay. It has an utmost length, from N by W to S by E, of 1¼ mile; and an utmost breadth of ½ mile. A pastoral islet, the Holm of Pharay (6½ x 2 furl.), ¼ mile to the N, is separated from it by Lavey Sound.
